-"Latinx communities constitute the largest ethnic minority group in the United States and experience mental health problems at equivalent or greater rates than White populations."- People usually think that mental health issues resonate with a certain race/ethnicity and don't actually stop and research who it's mainly affecting.
- "Only 20 percent of Latinxs experiencing mental health issues ever speak to their doctors about their symptoms. " - Fear is a big obstacle in the Latinx community which leads to many people not receiving the help they need since they haven't voiced their concerns about their own well being.
-"Suicide is a significant public health problem among adolescents and is currently the second-leading cause of death among youth between ages 12 and 17 years of age." We should especially watch the children of our generation who can be impacted the most. Many times children won't speak up and will suffer in silence because they are scared. We need to educate them that it is okay to ask for help and tell people your problems.
- Stigma is a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person. In this case, the stigma on mental health has been created for many different reasons.
- If we destigmatize mental health in the Latinx Community, we will be able to receive proper help and later achieve more accessible treatment which will result in a changed culture and lead to less deaths being caused by mental illness.
